Redux 2

Hucast games announced Redux 2 today. I'm remaining cautiously optimistic given how the release of the first Redux went.

What does everyone else think?

I think... those screenshots are again NOT from the DC version. Again. So 'nuff said.

why not? I mean they might not be, but it's not like the DC isn't able to run something like that :p

"Redux 2 is an original Sequel to Redux and it will feature 7 incredible stages themed from temple ruins Tech vaults and you will even enter a worm hole and discover new alternative dimensions."

somehow a little copy from Sturmwind? :P

I do like to see some polygon graphics on stages, just to see something different...

Btw, Duranik is working on new title for Dreamcast.

They don't code for the DC. They code for PC and then "downgrade" for the DC. They did exactly that with Redux and are doing it for Ghost Blade (they even let us know on Twitter). So that's when the drastically different resolution and aspect ratio turn up.

Don't know the story with DUX regarding that downgrade, but...

Native resolution and onscreen resolution is not the same thing.

Also, the power of a game is not just in its native resolution. You can have two games at 480p native, but one can still be much more powerful than the other. Use of shades, this, that...

Dux is 480p. Then they added lots of sprites and effects and whatnot for Redux and realized they couldn't make it work on the DC, so they lowered the resolution to 240p. The result was the blurry mess we got. Redux 1.1 slightly improves such blurriness.

I have no problem with 240p either. Most 2D games by Capcom, SNK or NGdevTeam no less are 240p. The problem was they used HD screenshots to promote Redux and never let users know what the final visuals for the DC would be like.

There's also... blocking users who complained about this from their FB page ...
