Using Cabou's VGA cable - Still see jagged edges, normal?
Hi all. After reading some recommendations, I asked Cabou to make me a VGA cable. It's working fine but something I'm wondering about are the aliasing issues. I'm not sure if I've become an AA snob since I heavily use it (8x MSAA) in 1080p games on my PC so perhaps I've become so used to that resolution that anything less looks crap to me. In Shenmue for example, I can see jagged edges all around Ryo's face in the opening cutscene, particularly with his nose where it would be most obvious. I've always read that DC games look beautiful in VGA but with the apparent jagginess, I'm not sure if I see it this way. I don't mind some jaggies around a character zoomed up but when there are objects in the distance, I just see a series of jagged lines so is this normal? Or perhaps there is an AV issue with my DC?

Yes it is normal. There is no aliasing issues and its def not a VGA cable issue (Cabou's are the best out there). AA is disabled when Dreamcast outputs in progressive scan. You don't see the improvement because like you said, you've become accustomed to higher resolutions and games with shit tons of AA visual treatment.
