Hucast have announced another team are working on a new Dreamcast game called 'The Ghost Blade' this is awesome news and can only serve to further feather the cap of the Dreamcast in its afterlife.


Game Features:

3 Game Modes with 3 player ships too choose from.

Screen Orientation:

TATE ( “3:4”) and YOKO (“4:3”)

Game Modes:

Stage Mode: 5 Stages
Caravan Mode: 2 min./5 min.
Time Attack
Release: TBA 2013

Could be good. i like the look of Neo XYX, but wish that the sprites were high res. This will likely be high res since it's being made for the DC specifically, though I hope the art style is varied somewhat than from what the ships and enemies in Dux were styled in - it just seemed kind of blah to me.

I hope it's a top down view shmup rather than a side scrolling. I have no idea what a caravan shmup is, maybe this.

But whatever. I'm just pleased every time a new DC game is announced. This fucking console just will not die.

I'm also hoping for a view more like Gunbird, also really arcadey and colourful would be (slightly) different. Still - like stated, it's always cool to have a new game!

Seems to me this option suggests it can only be the top down, vertical view.
What kind of hori could be played on a TATE'ed screen...

Caravan Mode: “Umbrella” term which can be used to denote both Score Attack and Time Attack modes. Originates from a group of Compile-developed shooters (Super Star Soldier and Final Soldier, among others) which both included such modes as extras alongside the “regular” games and released them alone, in limited quantities, as “Caravan” editions.
