I got UT 99 working on my Linux box so I would be up for a game. It stinks that there is a Linux version of it but it won't find or connect to any servers so I have to run UT 99 under Wine.

what's wine? I don't know anything about Linux except it's used as the OS for the PS3...

wine is a linux program that runs Windows based applications and games. it won't work for every windows app or game though.

It is basically a program that allows Windows programs to run on Linux. Here is a better description of the program ripped from the WineHQ web site.

Wine is a translation layer (a program loader) capable of running Windows applications on Linux and other POSIX compatible operating systems. Windows programs running in Wine act as native programs would, running without the performance or memory usage penalties of an emulator, with a similar look and feel to other applications on your desktop.

So this just an emulator then right? and just like most emulators out there, it won't run every single can you throw at it right? too bad my PS3 doesn't let me install non PS data on it besides media...it would be interesting to see UT run through PS3...lol...although I could play the PS2 port, but it doesn't have online!
