The best SNES emu is DreamSNES (slow) and there was a beta of a N64 emu out at one time but it only played tech demos.

I do believe I tried to get the N64 emu and it sucked!

Yeah, a little update, I looked and found TWO n64 emulators, both were not working, they said they could not get it to run at the correct frame rate and it ended up not being playable... I did get dreamsnes though, its slow, but me and my wife dig it, its mostly the sound, not too bad on gameplay, maybe the next time around I will get PAL ROMS

Yeah the SNES emulators for DC were built on old SNES9x source code, so they're riddled with the same problems that it had. As well as the limitations of the DC itself, but if properly optimized for the the DC's architecture they could do a faster snes emu.

In fact I've heard from some other message boards that Chui & Fox, the guys responsible for the Neo Geo emus "AES4all" and "Neo4all", are going to attempt porting a newer version of zSNES around 2009-2010.

But all things said if you want to try them out, here is a link to DChelp.net:

Code: Select all

http://dchelp.net/cgi-bin/sbi/browse/browse.cgi
Download the Selfboot Inducer v4 program and grab these two emus "DreamSNES_098_CG.sbi", and "SuperFamv2_CG.sbi".

Follow the instructions in the read em's, or Google for a guide as there are numerous ones posted already.

They do have pretty high compatibility, but there are some games that wont play or play well. Games that have FX chip or SA-1 chip technology are pretty much unplayable.

And DreamSNES, probably the better of the two, works better with PAL roms as they have a lower refresh rate.
But, Superfamicast has chip support for games like Dungeon Master and Star Ocean.
