No read gdromvat start BIOS modded

hello everyone is it normal that since I installed the new BIOS and installed the dreamshell BIOS devkit the disk does not start when the console starts? to start it I have to go to dreamshell and put start gdrom. but it no longer starts backup copies, but maybe that because I changed the region to Japan and NTSC. a thousand thanks .
