Re: Official Sega Saturn NetLink VOIP Guide
Ok, so I'm going to give this a shot this week. So far I have:
1. Netlink
2. VIOP
3. DreamPi
4. VLI
Do I need the 2PORT RJ11 RJ12 Manual Sharing Telephone Switch BOX to access Saturn Zone? Or do I only need the switch box if I want to have my Saturn and DC connected together?
Thanks!

Re: Official Sega Saturn NetLink VOIP Guide
Its optional equipment to make setup a little easier to use. It just makes it so 1. You can connect your Dreampi and your VoIP to your saturn without you having to swap around phone cables. 2. To also connect both Saturn and Dreamcast to Dreampi.dave_van_damn wrote:Ok, so I'm going to give this a shot this week. So far I have:

Without the box you'll have to manually swap dreampi with voip if you want to surf the web with saturn.

Ouch. What kind of connection do you have? That's very high ping and jitter.
I also like running this (https://packetlosstest.com/) at the VOIP preset because you can see a graph of your latency over time. Flatter and lower is better.

To be honest, I think I've done it incorrectly. I was on wifi at the time and not wired into the router!SEGA RPG FAN wrote:Ouch. What kind of connection do you have? That's very high ping and jitter.

Re: Official Sega Saturn NetLink VOIP Guide
So first off, great job on getting those JP games to work. Based on the guide, the patching to the US games is to force 14.4?
Also, has anyone tried Puzzle Bobble? Freaking love that game!
One more - has anyone had any trouble when playing someone using an ODE like Rhea/Phoebe/Fenrir? The loading times should be similar so it shouldn't be an issue, just wondering.

1. Yes the patches force speed to 14.4k which runs significantly better than 28.8k over voip
2. I've tried puzzle bobble with a few people, runs pretty good but a little on the slow side but for me it was easy to get used to. There are some youtube videos showing it in action https://youtu.be/AE4yVqCK6QU
3. I use phoebe and connected to someone with a fenrir and everything worked fine

Re: Official Sega Saturn NetLink VOIP Guide
Guys I need some help. When I try and run a patched JP xband game, I keep getting the message 'Sorry, this demo build only supports peer-to-peer connections. Please see the release notes for more information.' Has anyone got a clue what is going on? I played US Sega Rally fine, it just seems to be the JP games that are doing this to me.
