Recommend me a game with a good story

I really enjoyed the story and atmosphere of Grandia II and SoA, as well, though I was much younger at the time. Hard to know how well things would hold up.

I enjoyed playing some fighting games for the stories - Last Blade 2 and Fatal Fury MOTW come to mind.

Shadow Man it plays in a similar way to Soul Reaver and is often overshadowed by it, but it is way better

I would have to agree with Shadowman. The voice over work, in game rendered cut scenes, the conflicts between the dead side and live side, and how he reunites with his dead brother who turns out the be the main antagonist. The story is more captivating for sure. I totally forgot about this one.. need to give it another play through.

I usually play it once a year or every 2 years, during christmas...it’s one of my fav games of the genre the atmosphere is awesome, and the structure of the game too...the first time I entered the cathedral, with the lorries and all, I was blown away by the sheer size of it all...

mmm am i the only one to think shadowman is a very good idea done very very badly?

anyway sonic adventure and resident evil will keep you entertained for a good while. Not the greatest stories ever but they'll do the job as games are great

I'll try to list titles not previously mentioned-

Soul Calibur actually has a deep storyline for a fighting game, from what I remember it does a good job at engaging the player with each character's backstory and motivations and provides a compelling history on the world the game is set in. You could also try Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare, it's a decent survival horror title with a more unique plot.
