Re: Official Sega Saturn NetLink VOIP Guide - SaturnPi
I've found someone selling it locally for $7. I'll be an upstanding member of the community and try to confirm if it works . Although I have no idea how to determine if it's locked

Re: Official Sega Saturn NetLink VOIP Guide - SaturnPi
Hi,
Well, with the Cisco / Linkesis SPA 1001 I can just play games direct to other members?
For use NetLink Zone do I have to use Cisco / Linksys SPA1001 with raspberry?
I don't understand how to connect it:
I connect Netlink cable (modem RJ15) to Cisco / Linksys SPA1001.
The Cisco / Linksys SPA1001 is connect to the routher (RJ-45).
What I'm missing is just the raspberry?
How should I connect the raspberry?
I believe I don't need to get a modem, because the Cisco makes the same work.
Thanks for everything.

Re: Official Sega Saturn NetLink VOIP Guide - SaturnPi
So here is how it works
Voip adapter is for replicating a Analog Peer to Peer (Or in the video game term Direct Dial) that the Netlink service used for Pots (Plain Old Telephony Service) as the original Netlink used your landline, as you originally just called your opponents phone number and the Netlink at their house picked up the signal.
The DreamPi is a piece of software designed for the Raspberry software to convert a regular Dial-Up signal into a IP based network without a ISP. This is just used to send internet packets (or traffic) and not a analog signal hence why you need the Voip for playing games online on Saturn.
With that in mind your setup should look something like this
1. If you are going to play games online you will use a standard phone cable from the Saturn to the voip adapter then a Cat 3,5,5e or whatever the voip takes cable into your router (A standard Ethernet cable will do).
2. If you are going to browse the web and if you followed the Dreamcatlive.net guide you take the phone cable from the Saturn and plug it into the modem located on your raspberry Pi and likewise with the Ethernet cable into your router.
These two methods are completely different and cannot be mixed together
