New halflife mods!

Post by Br4mb0 »

Halflife modders stil active and create new and good hl mods, like Artic Incident and C.A.G.E.D.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/arctic-incident
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2017/0 ... c-a-g-e-d/

Actually i am working now on a C.A.G.E.D. version for dreamcast but some maps are o large to run and need o split in 2 parts.
I contacted the mod developer and he says that is ok to make a unoficial dreamcast port. He give me a link for the .map files but i have not steam's halflife required to download it.
Can anyone download it and send for me?
http://store.steampowered.com/app/70086 ... rce_Files/

I have the same problem with A. Incident. I tried contack he mod dev. but he don't replied.
If anyone want saw this mod on dreamcast contact the devs and send me the .map or rmf files to me.

A quick question.
I'm also thinking in do a new verion of 007-Goldeneye mod for the D.C. ,but i want to know if anyone have interest in such project ?
And if anyone have interest in help me?

Yes! PLEASE finish the 007 mod for the love of God! XD

That was one of my most popular uploads at TIZ, people kept asking me when a new version would come out. I am glad you have gotten back into modding HLDC my old friend.

I own HL goldsource version on Steam, so I can try and get the files needed for you.

EDIT: I downloaded the source files, but I don't quite see where it is. After downloading it doesn't have any progress bar in the downloads section of steam for me. I will continue to search for it.

So far C.A.G.E.D. is really damn impressive for a mod, it truly does feel like a Valve produced game. Would be great to see this as a stand alone on the Dreamcast!

Try halflife\C.A.G.E.D. Steam directory.

i tried to get arctic incident working on dreamcast some time ago and IIRC all of the maps dont load because you need the extensiom dlls. i have a huge thread on assemblergames about fixing this problem but nobody is interested

I have interest, do you made any progress on loading wince .dlls?
Artic Inident. is basically a normal hl mod . Only difference that it use a spirit.dll very similar to the hl.dll.
If someone send me the .map or .rmf files i can make a perfect dreamcast port.

what id REALLY like to see is when the Half-Life 2 Classic mod is released to port that to dreamcast. its half life 2 "demade" for the half-life 1 engine

as for the DLLs i found a couple chains of subroutines in the binary disassembly which looks like dynamically loading and unloading the dlls specified by a server as well as CRCing them, but nobody is interested in actually testing this code. ill double post the link in a minute

someone who is better than me at reading disassembly in IDA and tracing function trees needs to look at this and say whether or not this IS the code for loading the dlls that we've been looking for https://assemblergames.com/threads/half ... ost-956982

Are these mods fully playable to the end?

I've never tried one and would like to soon.

@rambo, i put this together awhile ago, its a collection of all the HLDC modding tools and scripts put together by you guys way back in the day in one package. this way you dont have to hunt everythimg down again

http://dreampipe.net/hldc/sdk/hldc-sdk-0.0.7.zip

i think it also contains the alpha version of a team fortress 2 GoldSRC demake, with textures and the one map ported to dreamcast, although youd need the dlls to actually use the characters and weapons and stuff
