Port Forwarding

Post#1 » Sat May 20, 2017 1:55 am

Hello! I'm new here (just connected to google through my DC for the first time tonight :D ).

Sorry, I'm unsure if there's a way to search for topics, so I don't know if this has been posted before.

On to my question: Is it, in any way, possible to play DreamCast games over the internet *without* Port Forwarding?

I only ask as it is more than a little difficult to do with my current modem/router setup.

not really.. if the game requires it you will have to port forward or DMZ the dreamcast in order to play online..

A few games will work fine but the gamespy games and afo will not work without portfowarding or enabling dmz on your router for your dreamcasts ip address

im assuming you got this sorted right. A quick google would have returned:

Open AirPort Utility.
Select the AirPort.
Click Edit.
Click the Network tab.
Network Options.
Click "Enable default host at"
enter the local IP you wish to use and done.
Dreamcast: Blue Swirl, 60hz, White LED, Removable battery holder, Internal SD card reader, BBA, DreamPi, RGB Scart

Stick your gateway IP , your router IP in your browser and see what she do

I like the port unblock/forward for everything else but my Dreamcast games wasn't having it so I just enabled DMZ on Dreamcast IP

If unsure , as soon as you connect to Quake 3 it tells you your Dreamcast's IP =}
