Hey Guys,

I have a technical question for you. I recently installed a McWill mod with VGA, it was working great for 2 days but now will only play 3 games. I don't really even know where to start. It will play 3 games perfectly, then any other cartridge it just stays on a blank screen.

Any ideas?

Not posting the solution is not cool.

Posting it would save another thread in the future or help out other users

I ended up trouble shooting with McWill over at AtariAge and after a bunch of idea, I finally had an epiphany. The GG would load some games, but not all after the mod. So the mod works. I took a hooked soldering pick and gently pried the pins forward on the cartridge slot, and voila! It works again!

Overall the mod is Intermediate if you're doing it yourself, but the results are outstanding. If you are going to do it yourself, I suggest using a 9917 board because it's the easiest.

Fix had nothing to do with the mod.

It was just the pin connector in his Game Gear that didn't have enough tension anymore.

So he pulled all the pins in his GG's connector back a little so they make good contact with the cartridge's pins.

It's a common fix for NES consoles too.
