systems you sold and never re attained

just to piggy back on the topic about other systems we own...what about those systems you had that either you gave away, got broken, or sold, etc..and just never bought them back for one reason or another?

for me, about 15 years ago i got pretty hard into collecting systems and games that i wanted that i could never afford as a kid and some of these ended up being disapointing and i just sold them..but many of them i had to sell because the wife and i were broke and the power bill needs to be paid...lol

here's my list of systems that i had but dont have anymore:

as a kid...atari 2600 with about 15 games

as a old dude:

goldstar 3do with roughly 20 games
turbographx 16 with keith courage
nintendo virtual boy with mario tennis
atari jaguar with about 15-20 games (this is the only system i really regret selling off)
atari jag cd system with blue lightning
atari lynx with blue lightning
sega cdx (ok i really regret selling this one since now it goes for like $350!)...had about 15 sega cd games including Snatcher complete that i got for $5 @ a pawn shop around 2005
nintendo ds with about 10 games
nintendo 3ds with maybe 5 games
2 sega saturn systems with about 15 games..had panzer dragoon 1 and 2...to highlight a couple decent titles

A few years ago I decided to reduce my collection to systems and games that I really like and to solely focus on them. Less is more. My setup is now DC, MCD, MD, SAT.

The consoles I got rid of were:

Xbox
Wii
PS1
32x
Master system 1&2
Game Gear

I thankfully don’t regret it.

Bought an original Xbox with two free games, a few months after I bought a gamecube.
I sold it the evening, on the same day I bought it, because like the PS2, the fighting games on it...
eg. Soul Calibur 2 and DOA3, were too watered down, toned down, and way too nerfed, in comparison to the ones that I played on the dreamcast. And I used that money from the new Xbox I sold, to buy more gamecube games. "Should have bought a second dreamcast instead."

But I'll be honest, the original Xbox, is not a bad system at all.

If I had a PS2, I would have sold it immediately. That system was way too boring, for a gamer like me.
But if I had Virtua Fighter 4 for it, then it's a semi pass. By a small margin. Lol!

Had a gamecube back then played pso on it, had bba adapter and keyboard. only had a few games for the gamecube entire time owning it so traded it all into EBgames and got Steel Battalion on the xbox , just for the crazy controller hahah
got rid of the gamecube and never looked back
tho i do miss pso ep2 levels

2600 and colecovision..

i didnt sell them tho...

when I got my coleco I got it with a 2600 adapter so i got rid of my 2600.. years later (some time in the early 90s) the coleco stopped working and I got rid of it also..

otherwise I still own every console I ever bought or owned

Sold my snes (twice ) & n64 some 15 years ago, haven’t had any regrets yet

I've only sold systems that I had multiples of, or systems whose games I could play on other systems.

Sold my DS Lite to get a DSi XL when those were new, and I also sold my PS1, PS2 slim, and extra N64 that I got at a garage sale.

just as an update..since i posted this thread, i have re bought a ds lite and a 3ds...not to mention a gameboy color...lots of games....basically i had some luck at a local pawnshop months ago and got a really good deal on the systems and games

Cool! Those 3 handhelds have so many cool games.
In my case, I'm planning on getting a gameboy again soon.
Moreso, hopefully a gameboy advance.
