After further investigating the issue, it seems something in the decryption process made the continue/gameover screens to break (or probably those weren't included in the GDI for some reason). This is probably related to stage 3 breakage in Dolphin Blue.

Are you sure about this? It seems unlikely, looking at it further, rather than rom corruption, something triggers an exception (might still be due to corruption, but it is more likely trying to reach an "illegal" address.)

Just tested in Redream with 2 players at halfway through player 2 went into an area I couldn't hit them. Is there a way to jump between the foreground and background? Didn't seem to go fully back either.

Wondered if the turn may be better assigned to one of the triggers as there are 2 slash buttons and and a kick and punch button?

Thanks megavolt85 i can confirm the GDI is working perfectly on Redream
no black screen, continue screen available and once count is done press start
it goes to the main screen....great work
