Unlocking the 2nd stage (the one for this competition) was easy for me, but I'm also struggling to unlock the 3rd as I can't even be Top 3.

In the beginning, when mashing buttons I could pull off some spins ans somersaults, but when I started to try to do the special moves, I can't even do a simple complete spin, and trying to do the trick combos is a nightmare. I can do the first trick, but then the controller doesn't react to the other buttons, I don't know if the tricks must be done in a certain time and if you pass that time, you can't pull off the second/third trick of the combo.

You have a very limited amount of time to perform tricks and land them so you need to plan ahead and try not to do too much. For example, if you do Bob's special move, the King Step, you won't have enough time to perform anything else. Also, some tricks can't be pulled off on certain jumps because they aren't high enough.

i'm in Europe and thought i'm 7 hours ahead of you, confusing timezones... doesn't matter, i like Cool Boarders much more now, during my tries i even unlocked a new track, and a new mode (i got a message NEW MODE GET! but still don't know what i unlocked :D )!
Thanks guys for the incentive to try harder and practice!

Nope, you're 5 hours ahead of the east coast. Something I did a while back that's really helpful is add an additional clock to my PC. You can add different clocks with different time zones so you can see what time it is in another location at a glance. It's really handy!

Anyway, glad you enjoyed the competition! :)

Depends on where in Europe. The UK is 5 hours ahead of EST, but like Germany is I think 7.
