Hi! Tamagotchi collector passing through

Hello!

I'm here mostly to explore all the cool vpets that are on the VMUs of the Dreamcast.

Mostly interested in the Chaos minigames for sonic as well as the Godzilla minigame.

I know nothing about Dreamcasts so I'm gonna be very confused for a while :D

welcome!

my husband got really into virtual pets and digimon in the past few months. "seaman" caught his eye to the extent that he ended up ordering a whole dreamcast! definitely give seaman a look if you can either find a dreamcast microphone or get it set up on an emulator.

i'd never heard of the godzilla vmu before! i took a quick look, and the vpet minigame is on the Blue Swirl "dream explorer 0.8.5" disc under vmu_games -> misc -> game0006.VMI.
this is a pretty old tool (last release was ~2008), but not bad at all if you only have access to cd-rs.

the individual save file is on the website too, if you happen to have a method to transfer saves directly.

it seems like the game basically needs a fresh VMU, so i couldn't fit it on mine. but i'm curious - give me a holler if you get it working on yours!

i hope you enjoy your time on the dreamcast. may all your virtual pets grow big and strong.

no, i don't think so. there's a guide on gamefaqs that says what all the menus do though.

The green one ('Special Edition Godzilla VMU') has the following minigame: Atsumete Godzilla.

Then there are two different white ones:
'Special Edition Gamera VMU' has: Gamera Dream Battle.
'Special Edition Mothra VMU' has: Mothra Dream Battle.

See this thread for reference: https://dreamcast-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5276

Be aware, that if you buy one of these nowadays, the minigame might not be on it anymore. Still, you could use my tool "VMU Archive 1.0" to re-install these games. It's available in the Download section of this forum.
