I'm in the UK and I suspect that the inclusion of RF cables with "our" machines was the result of Sega's experiences in the UK market with the Saturn. At the time, I'd read that retailers had received complaints from customers that a SCART cable had been included and not an RF one. This was strange because most TV sets sold here since the late 80s featured a SCART socket.
Speaking of SCART, my cable has arrived I've tried it on
three different TVs - one of which never fails to detect any signal from 80s computers, set-top boxes, DVD players, consoles etc and on all three I receive a black screen, with sound on just one occasion. Am I correct in assuming that the cable is faulty?
