Hi All,
I have owned my Dreamcast since 9-9-99. Pre-ordered it and a handful of games that I have all today. I'm starting to build up my collection and also modernize my setup a bit. I just got an Akura and I need to learn about boot discs to force the non-VGA games to boot in VGA mode (all legit discs, I don't personally burn games). That search brought me here!
I'm also going to dig in to figuring out how to get my Dreamcast online as I see the growing online community on Dreamcast!

But I'm planning to do so soon.

Yes I am definitely considering it. Is there a guide you'd recommend? I believe I saw it works with the dail-up modem and I don't need to get the broadband adapter to use it on modern broadband?Anonymouse wrote:Welcome to the boards. I hope you are considering a DreamPi setup at some point.

Guides to get online are here:
https://www.dreamcastlive.net/connection-guide
http://blog.kazade.co.uk/p/dreampi.html
https://youtu.be/VgRLnj2YR3s
You need a computer and a specific USB modem modded with a Line Voltage Inducer.
Using a Pi is the easiest plug/play method.
You can buy a ready to go Pi and modem here: https://www.dreamcastlive.net/shop
It can be cheaper to make LVI yourself and use a VirtualBox PC-DC server.
All the info is around here a few clicks away its really simple compared to only 5 years ago.
