There were easy games in the late 80s and early 90s too. Altered Beast isn't hard, the Sonic games, while freaking amazing, aren't too challenging. Even Ghosts n Goblins (at least the NES port) isn't as hard as Volgarr, except for the lack of infinite lives. That made it a lot harder than Volgarr is.

I think the fact that it is free may seriously damage sales; perhaps if they include extras odst, artbook etc.
I'd wager they might be best releasing a limited edition version only, limited to a a few thousand copies at most. Yes, I'd buy it.
I used IMGburn, and it worked first time. Plus the DC market isn't something they're super working hard on. I mean, there's millions of PCs, XB1s, and 360s still on every day. How many DC users still actively use the system? I mean, 10 million were sold, and most of us now have more than 1, so like a few hundred thousand tops.
