VMU Li-ion battery mod

yesterday I was sitting in VK.COM and saw a person asking what this inscription means on VMU

some time ago I was presented with a VMU in which several pixels on the screen are damaged and two buttons are missing (B and MODE), I decided that the time had come to restore this VMU, but this is not enough, I am not ready to buy batteries in batches, so it was decided to modify the VMU with a rechargeable battery

1) remove IC5
2) Remove D5 and solder pins together
3) unscrew the positive contact and screw in the self-tapping screw without it
4) cut off the negative contact along the bend
5) glue the battery with two-sided tape to the board
6) stick the charging controller to the battery on two-sided tape
7) solder ground to the charge controller and to the battery
8) solder plus to the charge controller (BAT +) and to the battery (B +)
9) solder the wire from pin 2 (+ 5V) or CE1 capacitor to the charge controller (IN +)
10) cut out the battery compartment in the case

TP4056 charge controller, micro usb connector must be removed

The Li-ion battery was sized according to the size, I took a 150 mah battery from cheap wireless headphones

Nice work, thanks for sharing! I’ve had this kind of mod in mind for a long time but haven’t gotten around to it. But now I have no excuse :D!

can you link it? I know nothing about this kind of things so I wouldn't know how to find it myself. Also, do you think is posible to mod it and keep the plastic cover in the back so it looks like a normal one?
