Yeah and we can do it but most of these are fairly land at the bottom of the garden this is do-ableRoareye wrote:Wow, that looks like a VERY promising way to "demake" Monkey Ball for the DC!Ian Micheal wrote:About the only think on that list i could kinda make happen is monkey ball using the opensrc clone never ball and updating that..
Since chui ported this and i can build it we can add the mods and do the grafix for it
What games would be a good fit to be ported to DC?

Ian I waited over 30 years for the incredible c64 port of Super Mario Bros (although TGG Sisters was a great substitute ) - If I'm lucky I just might see someone make a port of Flying Corps to the DC by 2050

Hehe If I'm still alive by 2050 it prolly be me doing it lol
One thing the c64 port the cpu in the nes are pretty much the same cpu ..
But it's amazing rewrite not just a port ground up rewrite of the nes game.. Zero slow down on a c128 btw
Really not sharing any code for render sound controls anything ..
Port of anything needs the src he did not have any..

Postal 2 please!
I know next to nothing about ports.
I wouldn't mind seeing some of the saturn games that were ported to xbox live and psn, but no idea if it's even possible.

Re: What games would be a good fit to be ported to DC?
Hello all, saw this thread, and had a couple of games to add to the discussion.
First, there's an unreleased Game Boy Color game called Infinity. It's a Zelda-type action RPG that was in development around the time of the release of the Game Boy Advance. According to the website, it was ~90% complete before development stopped, so any work porting it to the DC may be a little involved putting all the existing pieces together. A prototype ROM, along with the source, is available here:
https://infinity-gbc.org/
Another game that looks like fun is a retro-style PC game called Strange Flesh. Fair warning, it's adult-themed. so NSFW! It plays like Streets of Rage, and is currently available for free on its website. A few reviews I've seen praise its music, but say overall the game is a bit short. As it was made more recently, I don't know how feasible a DC port would be. All info about the game (remember, NSFW!) is available here:
https://greatestbear.com/strangeflesh/
You can access the source without the adult-themed material here:

Originally a Naomi GD-ROM game, would be a great fit in the Dreamcast's library. Should be doable for someone with the will and the know-how.
GTA2 not enough?zychion wrote:Shakedown: Hawaii and Retro City Rampage!!
Dreamcast has so many Kid-Friendly, pretty 3Dplatformers, and many kid-friendly arcade titles, but Monkey ball is a special one that is so utterly unique.
I would also love to see SNK’s “Sengoku 3”
CPS3’s Red Earth / Warzard
Naomi’s Wild Riders
(if lower-texture/mono-audio makes it possible)
& the most charming/nuanced/polished, from among the OpenBeatsOfRage games:
G.I. JOE - “Attack on Cobra Island”:

“A Tale Of Vengenace”:

“NINJA”:

“Darkstalkers”:

Also, another truly masterful OpenBOR game, in which LordSkiff & BloodBane utilized some lesser known yet gorgeous sprites from IGS sleeper millenium fighting game “Martial Masters”:
This OpenBOR beauty contains:
1. Comprehensive move set
2. Brilliant control scheme
3. Full sprite animations
4. DOPE 70’s Kung fu flick OST
5. 70’s Kung Gu film vintage filter

I wonder if any 90's RTS games would be a reasonable fit for the console, it's a shame there wasn't a Settlers game for it or even the rumoured Tropico.
