I'm no programmer...but I'm pretty sure reverse engineering something like this would be an absolute pain in the ass and would only benefit this one single title.
I really doubt anyone would take on such a project for pretty zero gain
And then their is forums full with all sorts of RESIDENT EVIL MOD Gurus it's a shame they shut it down because I am sure someone their would of did this if possible
Personally, I'd much rather see Japanese Dreamcast games get english translations and time get spent on that then all the time dedicated to porting a PSX game to DC. The graphical improvement would be minimal and there are so many good Japanese Dreamcast games that need to be translated!!
Sorry, but can't anyone with an internet connection and Google get those disc images? Like has been pointed out, source code is probably needed. It's one thing to mod an existing game for a given console, but quite another to port it. Bleem is a better starting point than a full port. Has the bleem code ever been released?
Hey I think I got some good news about this idea on RESIDENT EVIL DIRECTOR'S CUT Port.
I found on an abandon Resident Evil Mod forum ,
It's a tool that's able to Edit Open the CDIMG Of The Green Greatest Hits Verison.
So now the question is , Possible we can edit the SAVE DATA Section of the game and change it to VMU Data so this way when we use BLEEM Boot Discs and then it can save on regular VMA ?
Such a shame that re1 never made it to DC, it would be probably the best looking original re1 game and they could add extras from the other released versions.
Hi guys, here I'll be writing up tutorials on how to mod Resident Evil 2 for the Dreamcast so you can create unique content/experiences for your own...
