Its an interestin patent but I don't think eother sega or sammy would abandon their namesakes as they do (still) have some clout...it would be like ms changing their name...y?...niw starting a whole new venture altogether sounds more likely and among japanes conglomerates this kinda thin is normal..honda makes cars motorcycles trucks and lawn care equipment...yamaha motorcycles and audio...even mitsubishi makes tvs...lol this would've been an easy in for cars if chevy didnt already make a sonic lol

Hell honestly speaking if it wasn't a chevy the name alone would have added it to my watch list of cars...that and its a lil eco driver...man with that name they coulda made a mid level sports car and made a special edition with sonic decals floormats and a upgraded sound and multimedia center and drew even more attention...ford would have done it lol they made a mike shinoda mustang lol

I personally think that Sammy will probably be shuttered and that Orbi will be in charge of all R&D.

Anybody think it might be some gambling machine?

I'm almost positive it is. I can't really think of monopoly itself as a sort of leisure activity in an amusement environment. Especially in the west. Not to mention Sega Sammy's big Pachinko interest.

I'm going skip over the IC 25 for clothing and focus instead on the red meat of any game company IC 028(Electronics,Toys,Recreational Products, Indoor and Outdoor.)

IC 028. US 022 023 038 050. G & S: amusement machines and apparatus for use in amusement parks (other than arcade video game machines); arcade video game machines; electronic circuits, magnetic tapes and disks, optical disks, ROM cartridges and other recording media containing game programs for use with arcade video game machines; arcade video game machines other than those adapted for use with an external display, screen or monitor; electronic circuits, magnetic tapes and disks, optical disks, ROM cartridges and other recording media containing game programs for use with arcade video games; amusement game machines; amusement apparatus for use in arcades; stand alone video output game machines; pinball game machines; coin or counter operated arcade games; vehicle toys; electronic toys; hand-held games with liquid crystal displays; stuffed toys; toys; dolls; developmental toys; play sets and accessories for dolls; stuffed plush dolls; collectable range of toys and dolls; collectable range of stuffed plush toys; action figures and accessories; toy zip guns; toy bakeware and toy cookware; toy banks; toy snow globes; toy action figures and dolls; clothing and accessories for toy action figures and dolls; educational toys and playthings; hand held electronic games; handheld game apparatus with liquid crystal displays; electronic hand-held game units; puzzles; jigsaw and manipulative puzzles; plastic toys; toy figurines; action figures; action figure toys; toy models; bath toys; inflatable toys; Christmas crackers; Christmas ornaments; Christmas tree ornaments; decorations for Christmas trees; kites; puppets; paper party favours; paper hats; paper face masks; masquerade and Halloween masks;costumes being childrens' playthings; go games; Japanese playing cards. Japanese chess; dice; Japanese dice games; cups for dice; diamond games; chess games; checkers; conjuring (magic/illusion) apparatus; dominoes; playing cards; mah-jong; game equipment sold as a unit for playing a board game, a card game, a manipulative game, a parlour game, a parlour-type computer game, an action type target game; board games; trading cards game; game cards; slot machines(amusement machines); other game machines and apparatus; billiard equipment; darts; digital darts; automatic slot machines; coin slot machines; slot machines(gaming devices); gaming machines;sports equipment; gymnastic and sporting articles not included in other classes; skateboards; wheeled toys; scooters, bicycles and tricycles for playsit on rides; kites; ice skates; water squirting toys; balls, namely, playground balls, soccer balls, baseballs, basketballs; play balloons; baseball gloves; surfboards; swimming floats for recreational use; kickboard flotation devices for recreational use; swim boards for recreational use; swim fins; knee pads; elbow pads; games other than those adapted for use with an external display screen or monitor; balloons

amusement machines and apparatus for use in amusement parks (other than arcade video game machines); arcade video game machines; electronic circuits, magnetic tapes and disks, optical disks, ROM cartridges and other recording media containing game programs for use with arcade video game machines; arcade video game machines other than those adapted for use with an external display, screen or monitor; electronic circuits, magnetic tapes and disks, optical disks, ROM cartridges and other recording media containing game programs for use with arcade video games; amusement game machines; amusement apparatus for use in arcades; stand alone video output game machines; pinball game machines; coin or counter operated arcade games;

SEGA puts plenty of emphasis on the fact that this paragraph is mostly referring to Arcade boards and Amusement Machines. Though the term "Stand Alone Output Game Machines" can easily refer to TV monitor converter,stand alone video game machine non arcade. After all The Original Dreamcast trademark from 1999 has this description term under the same IC." While you can doubt that, it should be noted that there's a through enough description of arcade video game machines other than those adapted for use with an external display, screen or monitor;
that helps distinguish it from referring to just arcade hardware.

electronic toys; hand-held games with liquid crystal displays;educational toys and playthings; hand held electronic games; handheld game apparatus with liquid crystal displays; electronic hand-held game units;

Definitive proof that the tablet computer SEGA TOYS has been concepting all throughout 2011 is STILL on the table and INDEED does exist and that we shall see it very soon. Also it means, Sega Orbi will likely take over distribution of SEGA TOYS or handle the licensing for the tablet I'll call "dc Pad".

other game machines and apparatus; This could be Amusement related to like a Panchiko Machine,Skeetball Machine but then this description helps define what SEGA is referring to when they "slot machines(gaming devices)" Which refers to what I just described.

; gaming machines; What does this description refer to? We've already establish the fact that Kabushiki Kaisha Sega has already properly defined the difference between an Amusement Machine/stand alone game console and Parlor-like games like Skeetball,Panchiko, Billiards e.t.c they refer to gaming devices.

So what does this mean?

The interesting thing about "Orbi" is that it has got to be SEGA's most discrete,descriptive,non vague trademark to be filed in over a decade.

That speaks VOLUMES.
