Who knows at this point.

Anyway, I did do some checking with some of SegaNews' sources about Imagination Tech dropping out building RINGWAVE/Super System/FUTURA's graphics chips. It would seem that they might have gotten the OEM listing confused and either forgot or don't realize that NEC Corporation has ALWAYS been the main OEM provider for next gen graphics for SEGA and that Imagination Tech has never been the head OEM. They've always been contracted by NEC for GPU techology.

People should understand that Japanese GPU makers are known to have a common practice to contract Europeon tech companies to design graphics core archtecture. The only other RTU I could find besides Imagination Tech's CausticOne is NVIDIA Telsa which interesting enough was first demostrated in 2008. NVIDIA has yet to even consider releasing a RTU for OEM use in the PC world so that would be a decent alternative route for SEGA, because of Telse remaining unavailble for OEM PC use, it would also make RINGWAVE non PC based.
