That looks promising but what kind of gear is able to handle such a technology ? From what I saw in the video it's pretty 'tough'.

Also didn't they actually mean that the so called RayTracing technology is still 'raw' and has to be in work at the moment ?

Ray Tracing is the act of adding on photo realism,3D stereoscopic processing to GPUs that are known for rasteration. What it does, is both digitally copy the background of a real life photo. (Meaning say you develop a game with a Jungle, with Ray Tracing you can produce a life like jungle and then superimpose 3D images and models on the background.) This is how Avatar got off the drawing board. RT also helps reduce the preformances of rasteration, reducing rasteration is key to lowering development costs.

Ray Tracing has been expermental for several years. Except that nobody but Imagination Tech has succeeded in developing RTUs that are inexpensive.

Ray Tracing has nothing to do with "adding on photo realism,3D stereoscopic processing to GPUs" or digitally copying anything. Ray tracing is a technique for generating an image by tracing the path of light through pixels in an image plane and simulating the effects of its encounters with virtual objects.

This site has a fairly detailed description of Ray Tracing:

Here's another:

(Yes it is from Wikipedia but this article has some good reference material listed on it)
