SystemSP is the motherboard CPU that powers the Lindbergh. It would have also been the COSMIC SMASH's main mircoprocessor.

Anyway, please stay on topic. stu wants people to discuss this imaginary console "PS4" and how Harvey the Rabbit is planning to launch it next year with Bobby the Chipmunk. And also wants people to talk about Xbox 360's successor project " Bulldozer" if you want to discuss these SEGA marks. Do it on my topic.

Hey MrSega, If you have no interest in this topic discussion and nothing INTELLIGENT to add to it, then why are you here? :?:

Might I suggest that you take your own advice and go back to posting in one of your many, MANY threads about the KidsPad and the "Amazing Ray Tracing SEGADRIVE/NEPTUNE/NEPTUNIA/SUPER SYSTEM! tm ".

At least there you'll be free to day dream about your imaginary "new Sega console" in peace. :P

A lot of it is marketing hype. heck just look at the 360 and or PS3 so called perfomance numbers, nither of them can obtain those numbers in real world applications, At best they can do around 1/2 to 3/4 of those numbers (only in a controlled test can they achieve those numbers).

All i see here is much of the same.

Sorry for the slight bit of grave digging here folks. Got to give them zombies some lovin as well.

Lot's of marketing strategies.
If the console is good, it will cost alot, so to cut the cost they have to use something cheaper.
Thing is, they probably want to run the more recent games, so they will cut some caratheristics.
Take PSO BB for example, my specs outclass the recomended standarts by a good margin and i can still make the game run slow, it all depends on the several conditions of the graphics and i am sure the ppl that create these new consoles mess with stuff we don't even know of.
The causal gamer probably knows anti alising and ansitropic filter, but there are far more things regarding the ways an image can be shown on screen.
Even if i had an xbox 760 right here i doubt it would run.....BF3 if the game was tweaked to the max, so this "avatar" marketing is just to get ppl exited

I also like to point that ppl focus more on graphics then i expected, no wonder ppl still like dreamcast games, they were unique, now it's call of duty, crisis and battlefield mania.
Alot of creativity has been lost, it's true that they have to make a profit, but i prefer amnesia the dark descent or star lancer to any of the 20 shooters comming out or that will come out when the consoles are released

Mircosoft is expected to complete and finalize development of project "Bull dozer" at the end of the year. Xbox 3 may use NVIDIA GeForce 500 series graphics instead of AMD Radeon and will run on"Unreal 3" visuals.

K_I_R_E_E_K, I think you make an excellent point about creativity being lost. The rise and rise of drab, photorealistic games must be halted or videogames will no longer be hailed as an artform, just another pasteurised form of entertainment. Console manufacturers and game publishers should be putting more resources into originality.

Obviously technology will always continue apace but we shouldn't forget what made videogaming so enjoyable in the first place.

Looks like this thread got bumped just at the right time since there had been quite a few rumors and stories in the mainstream gaming press regarding PS4 and Xbox720.

First up - Next Xbox to launch in 2013 - Report

Quote: "Develop reports that chip manufacturers and software middleware firms expect the next Xbox to be announced at E3 2013, with a launch following in time for the holidays. This would be an announcement-to-launch timeline similar to the Xbox 360, which was revealed just six months before the console hit retail in November 2005. "

Second - Sony studios "begin PlayStation 4 projects"

Quote: "Preliminary work on PlayStation 4 games has begun at several internal Sony studios, Develop understands.

A trusted source connected to the matter has told Develop that various game projects are at very early stages, though didn’t reveal which of Sony’s sixteen first-party studios had been delegated the work.

Few in the games business expect a new PlayStation to launch before 2014 – the next few Christmases will likely see Sony marketing software for PS3, Move and its new Vita handheld."

Lastly - Xbox 720 Launch Not Likely in 2013, PS4 Coming First, says Analyst

Quote "Xbox Next, as it's been dubbed according to sources at Develop, could be launched in 2013, but some believe Sony is likely to take action first, rather than allowing Microsoft to get the first mover's advantage as they did this generation with Xbox 360. RW Baird analyst Colin Sebastian told IndustryGamers that Sony probably will launch its next PlayStation first.

"I doubt they will be ready for launch in 2013. Between Sony and Microsoft, we expect Sony to be first to market perhaps as early as 2013, but more likely in 2014. There is still a lot of investment for both companies to recoup in the current generation," he said."

Looks like things are really hotting up in the next generation systems, with both PS4 and Xbox720 being readied for launch. 8-)
