Soul Calibur not working *problem fixed*

When I put my Soul Calibur disk into my DC it shows the Sega logo but then goes back to the console's menu. (the menu that shows up when the lid is open) It plays everything else just fine. I remember a few years ago SC worked fine but when I brought my DC outta the closet recently that one game isn't playing. Any ideas on how to get it working again?

* Ok I took it to a local shop and had it resurfaced and now it works fine.
