Napple Tale translation, can't continue saved game?

Does anyone know why my saved game wouldn't be working for the Napple Tale translation?

When I am on the home screen and try to continue my saved game, there is a red X through the continue option and it won't let me continue. I tried a save file on two different memory cards, and neither works.

I am using a GDI version and using a Terra Onion Mode. I swapped it with a spare GDEMU and got the same result.

I basically just played the intro and tutorial and got to the bed in the house, saved there and exited. I tried starting a new game and overwriting the first save at the bed but I am still getting the same result.

Anyone know what could cause this issue?
