Is it possible to use an IDE to sd adapter instead of a hdd?

Hi all,

Im still waiting for some parts to start the ultimate dreamcast mods. I'm waiting on stuff like the Dell modem and the blank chip for installing a second bios.
But that's no problem, it gives me some time to think about other possibilities within the dreamcast shell itself.
So yesterday I was thinking about these IDE mod, but I don't want to have a huge hdd inside the dreamcast shell. So I did some searching on Amazon for an "IDE to SD card adapter", it seems this things exist, but I want to know if someone else has tried this adapter and if he or she can tell me about their experience about using it.

Thanks

I use IDE to CF and then CF to SD and it works great!

Thanks for answering my question. How is the reading speed over serial?

Edit, there are a lot of ide to cf drives.
@NeoSnk what brand is your reader?
I found a lot readers/converters on AliExpress, but don't know what brand will work.

Thanks
