You can try this one for PAL Dreamcasts. Maybe it will do the job.
The voltage output can be changed by adjusting a potentiometer

Thank you! I purchased it with the closed eyes.

Is my last hope because:
-2x 9 batteries are what im using now, but the life of them is some short.
-A serial--->usb modem dont works when i tried it ago months, and is big, ugly for a pi and another friend behind the router... Nop.
-I maked another line inducer with a 18v plug, works but it becomes hot like hell on minutes. Im afraid to forget it working on the end of a game night and burn the house XD. Return to the friendly 2x 9v batteries.

But i think that this is a great solution for PAL users if it works. I only lose 1,5€ if the thing fail. Thanks again! :-),

Hi!!!
I received the "voltage converter", and works fine with a tester!!! I get from the 5v usb a clean 18,5v output. Great!
This morning i will mount it and try tonight on the Dreamcast, my question is, its recommendable to add to the lvi the 0.47uf capacitor and the 380 Ohm resistor?
The end of the batteries on a PAL DreamPi could be near :-).

Ok, the thing works!!!!
Only fails at Alien Front Online, the rest of games connect at the first time very well.
If someome confirms that afo is down, there is the alternative for the 2xbateries XD.
If afo is alive, something have to be added. :-(

Edit: Afo works perfectly with this LVI, it was only the coincidence that today was my day of fix the afo routing. :-)

Fluffymadness... BINGO!!! Worked, that was not a question about money in batteries, its about that i love the nature and dont like to waste batteries, if i can.
One more solution for the DreamPi Pal users. :-)
Thanks again Fluffymadness!!!

This is great news! I purchased a few kinds and will wait patiently for them to arrive. If I can make a switch of something to change between voltage settings, then I might just put it in all adapters instead of 2 different kinds. It is suppose to be all-in-one afterall.

So did do you use a capacitor and resistor with the step up module? Or did it control everything correctly without any help?

Yes, capacitor and resistor added. Is the same that others LVI but the batteries entries was replaced by the regulator. Like you said before, is a NTSC and PAL solution :-).

I undetstand your point of view now sorry, very good intention estimating this pack to EU, here i am having more problem to get a 56kb usb modems, are a bit expensives or dont work, or less stock. The LVI part was not a problem with the 2x batteries and better now with the 5v converter (this one im sure that i can find it in my town, very good resources at my zone).

If i find that converters here in a low price i could try to send you a pair of them and see the cost of the delivery.
Also, i have to test it a bit more because is not working "solid" like the 2xBatteries, i explain it a bit better:
-Some games, at first try to connect, replies a Line is Busy. I have to reset the PI.
-When i finish to play, i disconnect ok, and change a game... Line is busy too. I have to reset the PI. That never happemed before, i swaped games without reseting the PI and connected at the first right.

During games everything perfect, only one strange hang at AFO that leave frozeen the game host, playing with user Will. You can make another game and play perfectly, extrange.

The converter worked for many hours, only that 2 details mentioned, looks the the voltage is correct but some week for my PAL DC modem. Sure that this dont happends on NTSC ones. :-)

This is my firsts impresion about that kind of LVI, happy to dont use batteries and nice gameplays yesterday. Today i will increase a bit the voltage and see whats happends. Now is at 18,3v ~...

Or maybe could try better without the resistor. I dont know if is safe :-(
