Sadly for now, PAL users cant use a USB line voltage inducer. The choices are 2x9vBatteries or a adaptor that feeds 18v to the line.
If you are a NTSC user or you have dreamcast modem of that region, the things becomes more easy ;-)

The good news is you can buy a NSTC Dreamacst dial up modem from Ebay which would enable you to use a USB powered LVI :).

Ive been strongly considering manufacturing full kits but right now I lack funds lol.

Once you obtain a NTSC Dreamcast modem from ebay or even Amazon, just buy a modded modem from Tact that has a built in LVI. Then all you need is to buy a Raspberry PI 3 kit from Amazon or Ebay and your all set :)

Okay the Modem on my Japanese Dreamcast is a HKT-7100 so it is not a 56K one.
My PAL Dreamcast has a 36K anyway so i might get a US Modem or complete Console :D

From europe, the games that worked for me via Dial-up without dreampi was:

-Quake 3
-PSO
-4x4 evo
-Next Tetris
-Toy Racer
-PBA Bowling
-Planet Ring (The server was updated recently, not sure if works now in that way)
-Maximum Pool
-Starlancer (not tested from my part, others played it).

Each one with some "needs" like a vmu save file, a CB code or a boot/patch disc.
The main problem is how permisive is the isp that your dreamcast dials. Like Pc's said, very few allow Dns join.
I was lucky using the same for many years in the same Dreamcast, with a free ISP (i think forgotten by some company). I love to play this way because is like old-school, at the dreamcast time. Is what you wanted to do at kid but cant because was expensive, alwais watching how many time are conected.

By othe way, i have other dreamcast with a setup readu to play Online with dreampi. It needs a line inducer, is the bad part, needs some router setup too, but for the rest is a +:
More online games
Easy to use.
Less configs/ways to get online.
A bit of more speed than the original Dial-Up.
Your phone line is available when you are playing.
Dreamcast Now service.
Use it via wifi...

Like you see, Dreampi is a next steep on the Online DC scene, a big next steep ;-)

Got myself a mint US Dreamcast,I hope it arrives in a few days ;D
Getting a Raspberry Pi is the easiest problem, the USB modem is on its way.
So all I need is a line voltage inducer.
Maybe I should go and get me the parts and build one myself.
Playing CHU CHU Rocket online must be awesome :D
And can't wait for Alien Front Online,I played it back then with a friend from PSO. Maybe we were the only Germans playing that game online ;)
