Hello guys and girls of course!!

To get the dreamcast online could i plug my dreamcast into the line and use something like this rather than using dream pi etc etc?

While you can use real dial-up, it may not work with some games. A lot of dial-up providers will ignore your DNS preference which means you won't be able to redirect games to the private servers. It will also be slower and you won't be able to use DreamPi specific features like Dreamcast Now. There is a possibility it may work fine for all games but the only way to know for sure is to try it.

Yup. There's no other place to set it with real dial-up.

It's worth noting that if you use boot discs to redirect your games by patching them that real dial-up will work just fine.

ChuChu Rocket requires a specific DNS server to work so it may not. Same with Next Tetris, PBA Bowling, Starlancer, and Toy Racer. The only way to know if these games will work is to try it. If you set your DNS server on your Dreamcast to 46.101.91.123 and these games won't connect, then your dial-up ISP is ignoring your DNS setting.

Has anybody tried making CB connection codes? That connection method lets you bypass the DNS problem entirely.
