Trying to set up DMZ for Dreampi

Trying and failing to get DMZ set up on my router. The set up screen lists an IP address but only allows me to edit the last 3 digits. The IP listed is 192.168.XX. and this is not editable. Following this, I can enter 3 digits eg 192.168.XX.123 The problem is Dreamcast's IP is 192.168.1.1. What should I do?

Unless you've altered your routers IP Address. Then the routers IP should be 192.168.1.1 (At least for most routers).

If you are connecting your Dreamcast via the Raspberry PI your Dreamcast IP should always be xxx.xxx.xxx.98 or in your case 192.168.1.98 unless:

1. A computer or device is already using that
2. You've modified the raspberry pi settings.

So you need to enable DMZ for 192.168.1.98

If something else is using xx.xx.xx.98 then you can use a game like Q3A and see what IP the Dreamcast is connecting at the end of the sequence when its connecting to the internet, it will say "Connected at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" Then you'll just use that IP to DMZ

Thanks for the reply.

I added 98 to the end of the DMZ and now according to Quake 3 it's connecting to 192.168.31.98. Does that mean that it has worked? Because as you said, I thought it should be 192.169.1.1? Sorry for the dumb questions :)

The IP of the Dreamcast shouldn't change at all when you DMZ the IP. If its connecting at 192.168.31.98 then that should actually be the IP you DMZ instead :)

So change your DMZ IP from 192.168.1.98 to 192.168.31.98, connect to Q3A to verify its still at that same IP. If it is then you should be all setup :) Let me know if that works.
