So how can one use the retail disc with netopia and bypass the disc to use a retail copy? Or did I miss that somewhere?

Set your primary DNS on netopia to 108.34.196.181

Awesome that is simple enough. Just have to reset to play my other games right?

Actually that DNS will connect you to all the respective servers. Sylverant for pso, dctalk for q3a master server, and dctalk for planet ring. All other hostnames are resolved normally. So like, 4x4 evo would use the official server.

I meant for like Starlancer, Maximum Pool, and 4x4 EVO. I have not really played online in a long while so they may not even be online anymore. Time I do some reading up on my online stuff.

Yeah, what I mean is if there isn't a modified DNS entry on the server it gets resolved by the server's ISP. It will resolve faster using your own ISP's DNS server, but you will still connect to the right place with the server's DNS. All those games are still online btw. We host our own 4x4 evo and max pool servers anyway. Our evo server is in the official list though, so there is no reason to redirect the game. And max pool is direct ip connect using the vmu save.

Awesome and that means gamespy still has Starlancer running as well. As always thanks for your intimate knowledge of the DC's networking and online capabilities.

The planet ring loader provided in the first page will do the dns change for you, allowing you to connect using the original game.
