Potential problem with DMZ or Portforward (aimesh router)

Post by SparxsteR »

I have noticed some "problems" with my new router system, and maybe someone else have the same issue?
Becuase with my old router i could play all of the online games with no problem.

I have two RT-AX58U routers in my house, one is connected to the internet and the other one is set as a "slave" connected with cabel from the main router. But it semse that the "slave" router in the bassement dosent know how to handle the trafic from the main router when i open Dmz or Ports from it.

I will try to put a cable from the dreampi to the main router upstairs and see if that will fix it.
So maybe there is a problem with DreamPi and iamesh systems?
Have you guys seen the Dreamcast 2?

sounds like AI mesh system there shouldn't be any issues with port-forwarding or dmz. now if it isn't set as AI mesh and you actually have two separate routers going through double nat that would be your issue. the only other issue I could think of is if the dreamcast has an ip that is already taken by another device.

Main Router DMZ need to be: [Slave Router IP, in main router ip range]

Slave Router DMZ need to be: [Dreamcast IP, that you can see complete in Quake connection, final 98 usually]

Example.

Main IP: 192.168.2.1
Slave IP inside "Main Network": 192.168.2.10
Main DMZ: 192.168.2.10

Slave IP: 10.1.1.1 (assuming the slave have his own subnetwork, with dhcp active)
Dreamcast IP below the Slave: 10.1.1.98
Slave DMZ: 10.1.1.98
