Unsure if related to the installation of WRP, or an issue with my DreamPi image, but I was wondering if anyone else has encountered the following?

I installed a fresh image of DreamPi 1.7, connected to my router with the WiFi Config tool, followed all the installation steps in the first post, and then grabbed the bug fix for 1.7 from here .

When trying to start DreamPi up, I'm getting the following:

Code: Select all

pi@dreampi:~/dreampi $ sudo ./dreampi.py start
  File "./dreampi.py", line 77
f"Did not find remote DNS config (HTTP code {e.code}); will use upstream"
                                                                            ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
pi@dreampi:~/dreampi $ sudo ./dreampi.py restart
  File "./dreampi.py", line 77
f"Did not find remote DNS config (HTTP code {e.code}); will use upstream"
                                                                            ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
pi@dreampi:~/dreampi $ sudo ./dreampi.py --no-daemon
  File "./dreampi.py", line 77
f"Did not find remote DNS config (HTTP code {e.code}); will use upstream"
                                                                            ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
Anyone else encountered this?

Just grab the image from here https://dreamcastlive.net/files/DreamPi-1.7.1-DLE.zip

That hack is from 2018 the image has been fixed in 2019.

Cheers! Figured the patch would suffice but guess not, managed to get my Dreamcast registering as connected at least now :)

Haven't managed to load a webpage yet, seems it just times out. I'll do some more prodding around and see if I can get it working from my Pi2b+, but really excited about this and big thanks for the guide!

I found a cool online game that works great with WRP. motornation.net

Image

Welcome To MotorNation!

A free to play online persistent browser-based strategy game where players can live the life of an automotive obsessive!

Set in the United Kingdom in the year 2000 with car availability and prices to suit. This basically means that the game has a greater focus on older, rarer and iconic cars when compared with other car games.

Buy and sell from a selection of over 410 detailed retro cars & other vehicles. Carry out maintenance, fit performance parts and race them in competition with the other players inhabiting MotorNation.

Whether you're into high powered Italian super cars or fancy modifying a more every day motor, these can compete using a class system to keep races challenging, progress through the ranks and where anything can happen. But don't forget, pushing a car too far past its limits can make it unreliable or difficult to control around corners...

Or if racing isn't your thing - trade cars for profit and attempt to become the richest citizen, acquiring some of the worlds rarest cars along the way! Or - just deliver pizzas...

fellas i come to you again in a time of great need, a new version of WRP (4.6.0) came out last year and i tried updating and everything was fine but when i try and use my dreamcast and type an URL on the box and clicking on go, it refuses to connect, looking at the pi console one of the command lines says: "panic serving [IP address]: runtime error: invalid memory address or nil pointer dereference". What should i do to fix this?
