Hi all.

Having the issue where it never connects. I tried inputting the code form page 3. But very new to this and not sure I was doing it right, I logged in with the default account details and entered the code in the prompt line. but should I get some kind of confirmation?

I noticed people say there is a fix, is that something I can get by reinstalling the Dreampi Image now? I last did it when the game first came out.

I've had a more in-depth look around the World Time Trials section this evening and have noticed some errors. Not surprising in a game that has over 250 courses. Apologies if I have made any errors here.

Financial

Embarcadero North shown twice (there should be a Embarcadero North, Embarcadero North II, Embarcadero North III & Embarcadero North IV. Embarcadero North III is missing)

Sansome North II shown twice (there should be a Sansome North, Sansome North II, Sansome North III, Sansome North IV and Sansome North V. Sansome North V is missing)

Trafalgar

Nelson Column South missing (has Nelson Column North twice)
Coventry Street East should be Coventry Street West
Trafalgar North should be Trafalgar East (there is a Trafalgar South & Trafalgar East course)

Asakusa

Chikatetsu-Noriba Minami shown twice
Senso Ji Kita missing. There is both a Senso Ji Kita & a Senso Ji Iguchi Kita course

Shinjuku

Tocho Kita-Dori Higashi shown twice
Tocho Dori Minami missing
Sumitomo Biru Restuarant should be Sumitomo Biru Higashi

Edit Note: there are two course in Shinjuku with almost the same name, bar a hyphen. Shinjuku Gard Minami (no hyphen) is a short course and Shinjuku-Gard Minami (with hyphen) is a long course. This is correct within the ranking.

Here is a list of all 253 tracks in each location. I have listed them in alphabetical order as much as possible. (these do not include the 9 x Free Roam courses).

Jial, would it possible to get the course lists in World Time Trial to display in alphabetical order (once you have selected the location)? How about adding whether the course is Short, Medium or Long, eg MEDIUM: Lambeth Bridge West or LONG: Jefferson West? I understand if this would make the list selection too long to read on a Dreamcast.

Hi rjay63, about change order of courses, I used an array in a php file to code the list because is faster than a database query, so the index of array is the internal code of that course. I understand that a alphabetical order is a more legible way so if you want I can change it to showed ordered.

About show the type of course (short, medium or large) it more easy, because I can add it at the end of the name.

My main aim is recreate that website as similar to the original as possible, because I want that people can feel the old experience, but sometimes I understand that users want more features to make it more useful. If people are interested in that changes I will add it without doubt.

Thanks for all your help and support.

:)

Hi Jial, I'm glad I could help. If it is easy for you to put the World Time Trial course lists in alphabetical order and it won't cause slowdown on the website, I recommend doing so.

It's likely the Bizarre Creations logo on the MSR website took users to this page:

https://web.archive.org/web/20010607051518fw_/http://www.bizarrecreations.com/msr.html

Just some minor notes below:

* Putting the UK version of the MSR website behind Dreamarena wall would force users to make an account. Therefore Sega Europe could state they have increased Dreamarena membership! This also coukd be applied to US users who wanted to view the leaderboards or upload their times.

* It is unlikely Sega added any further content to the MSR website. Search data from Wayback machine is around October / November 2001 and latest MSR News Update was February 2001. Japanese release was also cancelled in early 2001 along with the DC itself being discontinued.

* Ghost cars are more likely to crash if they are played across different versions of the game. For example, a ghost car created on the early PAL version (ringcode ending SS) is more likely to crash if raced on the final PAL revision (ringcode ending SB) or the US version. It also applies in reverse; ghosts cars created on the final PAL revision/US version will likely crash on the early PAL versions. That explains why the ghost cars/time trials from the old dcarena.de rankings. This would have had an impact on any official ghosts cars hosted on the MSR website.

PS It seems the US/Final PAL versions have some extra demos available (3 more in total). See the following picture for confirmation: Definitely no replay function however!

Hi rjay63,

No problem I will change courses order, it will take me some time but I think that in few hours I can finish it.

About your notes:

When you say UK version I assume that you mean any PAL version right? I didn´t know that for viewing leaderboards you needed to login in dreamarena account , currently we have a login to upload times only but not to leaderboards.

And where I can see that ringcode?, is it in the vms ghost file?.

and finally I want to ask you about that demos. are they in any options of the game to see it? I've never seen that.

That's a lot of cool information, thanks man!!

As I said , I will try to fix the courses list, and maybe won´t be popular but if original site force to register/login in dreamarena/seganet to see leaderboards or upload files I think that I will implement that. In any case, if I do that, I want to code a parameter to allow to override login to see leaderboards (in uploads is necessary)
