I think it might happen one day. Once they figure out the Japanese telephone thing.

I'd love to play Vampire Chronicles, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo X, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, or even any of the other fighting games, that had online versus on the dreamcast, online with you guys.

And like alot of gamers, I wish games like Soul Calibur, VF3tb and DOA 2 had online versus battles, back then though. But that might need a hack, to pull that off. Sega, Namco and Tecmo should have implemented that, for their 3d fighting games back then. In the case of sega, they have no excuse. Since the dreamcast is their console. :D

If those games ever return online, I'm definitely going to buy, a dreamcast arcade stick for that. Especially for MVC2, the Vampire Chronicles/Darkstalkers, and SSF2 Turbo games.
Super Puzzle Fighter 2 X and Puyo Puyo Fever, would be alot of fun too, since those are unique tetris styled game. :D

the problem with the japanese 'matching service' games is (as i understand it) they don't use TCP\IP like every other dreamcast multiplayer title, they used telephone switching tech that was exclusive to japan. very little documentation is available so it's hard to write an emulator for hardware we know nothing about

MVC2 would be fantastic though

I was thinking the other day. The reason we can't currently do much about the Japanese online DC games is because of the telephone switcher they used in Japan. But what about the BBA supported games?

There is also Kikaioh (Tech Romancer) for Matching Service.

Never been remastered / rereleased even though it is a 3D game.

Yes, you can tell between the regular and online version on the manual bottom right the Matching service logo.

The Matching version has purple on the disc instead of yellow I think
