Propeller Arena : Official Website

Hey guys! So you've likely seen some conversation around on reviving old Dreamcast websites related to games, especially websites that were accessible from the game itself. There has been some leaps in momentum, and I decided to finish off my current set with Propeller Arena. However here is the list of sites that are ready to come back online, just awaiting Kazade to update the Pi to relink to the new URLs;

Anyway, about the Propeller Arena site. I was able to trawl through several URLs to find the original site's HTML files, however not a single image survived the site's deletion. Thankfully a few fan sites and journalistic sites still hold several images which may or may not have been on the official website. Using these, ReDream emulator and the original site files I was able to interpret the images as best I could. I also rebuilt two missing pages, and created two new pages of material that likely would have been added to the site had the game not been cancelled - Battle Arena's and Secrets & Unlockables.

There are still a few image issues, mostly pertaining to the Secrets & Unlockables. I haven't managed to unlock any of the additional content yet and I can't figure out how to make ReDream recognise VMU files saved to my Hard Drive. If someone can help me figure that out, or can take stills from their own save files, then please help me out. ^_^

:: ADDITIONAL ::
A bit of extra interesting information is the network.html page. This page includes some fascinating information on how the network battle system was designed for Propeller Arena. First of all, it states that Propeller Arena uses the same internet protocols as Outtrigger - a game Shuouma is currently working on. That means that reviving Outtrigger not only gets us that game (and Bomberman Online most likely), but gets us a step closer to Propeller Arena too!
The bad news where it states that to play online you need to purchase a Participation Licence, which lasts only 30 days. I know ways around licences was found for PSO, so perhaps the same system can be setup here, but we don't have the benefit of the game ever releasing for anyone to actually have a Participation Licence (be it a VMU file or soemthing else), as such reverse-engineering this section may be more complicated.

Here's the site though, I hope you guys find it interesting! :D

Thanks guys. Still trying to figure out how to get Redream emulator to read save states/VMS files so I can unlock everything quickly.

Very cool to see another up and running. Especially for Propeller Arena. I really hope this can one day see its way online, my friends and I used to have a blast playing this split screen.

I have the vast majority of Japanese sites archived i do hope to put them back online much like you have done. Most are if not complete some are almost complete although now some are now unavailable when searching online. There are only a relatively few sites that are lost. While i have no real interest in western titles i did also get the majority of third party sites complete with downloads that they offered. Some sites are little more than a page while others are really complex but given that a lot of these were simply localised titles its not really surprising. Obviously some publishers put much more effort to promote their titles than others.

I remember about 10 years ago, I had wanted to use a certain save on Gran Turismo 2 on ePSXe but there was no way for me to use the original save file. So what I did was opened up the actual memory card files, and copied and pasted the code that I knew pertained to the save. Somehow it worked and everything was good. Sometimes the simplest idea is the best to try. I don't know if the same can be done with .VMI files but certainly worth a try? If not ReDream try on NullDC or Demul? Hell, there is also Chankast and a few other emu's out there you could try as well.
