Is there a simple way to do an in-place upgrade from 1.6 to 1.7 instead of having to re-flash the SD card? Or does that feature not yet exist?

Nah you'll need to reflash. The OS version and dreampi version is all tied together (for example, the upgrade of OS means the latest Pi drivers are there).

Although I could auto update minor upgrades, this one would be too big for that.

Be sure to use a proper tool to reflash as i have encountered problems with Windows default tool...

I solved using "SD Memory Card Formatter" then i managed to write new image with no issues

Win32 Disk Imager is on the Dreamcastlive but in order to install 1.7 i formatted before my SD Card (with 1.6 Inside).
The Windows default formatting tool was not formatting properly (i had problems in reflashing)

At the end i solved formatting the sd card with another tool, then everything went well.

There's no need to format the card. Just overwrite the drive labeled "boot".

Ok, so I'm getting a Kernel panic error within the Pi. It reads:

Code: Select all

end Kernel panic - not syncing VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown block (179,2)

Never mind, it was my own fault. Technology always triumphs over human error.

Hi every one, I got a question, actually two.
1- does any pi work with this distro, like from pi zero to A+?
2- have you give it a thought to launch it on orange pi?
