After reading the article Bob linked me too, I understand why you and others, made that mistake. I think alot of other gamers, went through this same problem too.
Thanks for the warning dude.

But keep that copy. Because that one that you have, might be hard to find, as time passes

Thanks for the article Bob. This helped me understand a bit more about the confusion behind this game.

Even I myself a few weeks ago, had to do some research on the internet, to learn more about Monaco Grand Prix, it's sequel or semi sequel, called Racing Simulation: Monaco Grand Prix 2, which is also called Monaco Grand Prix 2 Online Edition etc. Yeah, it's confusing.

And yeah, I had a suspicion a physical copy of this game, might be hard to get. Since strangely, there were only a few copies, not many, made for Europe.

I have Monoco Grand Prix, but not the online version. I assume it wasn’t released in the US.

I do have a disc called DC-X, which lets you play Japanese games by loading, popping the tray, and Inserting a Japanese Disc.

Will DC-X work with the European Copy of Monoco Online? Are any other world regions playable? (I would say Brazil, but the Master Sysytem was, during the Dreamcast era, and even is STILL today, the most popular Brazilian system.)

More importantly, will the online features work while physically located in America when using a DC-X-using American Dreamcast? Can I play all over the world, or only US-vs-US matchups? (might as well answer a similar question for the whole world’s audience wanting to play a foreign game.)

I've DC-IE Dreamcast-Import Enabler, and Codebreaker is a must too for the few missing the VGA flag

DC-X ought to do PAL its feature is region-free but I mean last I tested was not so hot like for CDDA games I thinks

Interesting for Monaco Online you're not going to s-vid it er nothing, there is no 60hz selector! Only accessible playing over VGA

I'm not sure if back in official times were encouraged to play people no matter from where on the Earth. But today it's no matter anywhere in the world can hook up via DreamPi

I read DC-X instructions. it says it can play any region game on any region console. There are special instructions to activate the Cable-Type Setting and TV-Standard setting in case there’s trouble. Press a button after booting DCX but before inserting game.

There are 3 cable settings, VGA, Composite, and SCART (what would S-Video be considered? Composite, because it’s a higher bandwidth version of a composite connection? What about RF?) And there are 2 TV settings: NTSC and PAL

So are you supposed to set it to what YOUR MACHINE is, or set it to settings of the GAME you want to play?

Jeez, I don’t own a VGA monitor. I never had a PC, and the only computers I had were an Apple IIe, an Atari 800 XL and iMacs since 1999. Where am I supposed to find a VGA adapter and Monitor nowadays.

That’s exactly what I need, a fourth VGA monitor in addition to my CRT TV, my Playstation 3D Monitor, and a hypothetical low-ping monitor i would consider buying except 3 monitors is pushing it.

Good luck finding a copy of the game. It's pretty rare.
