Getting confused?

Hi I'm just in the process of making my own dial up tone sender and hopefully soon embark on playing pso online. After reading some pages and never being online with a dreamcast,is there anything I definitely need? I don't have a dreamcast keyboard. I'm hoping to start and save my online progress to vmu's is that still possible? I will hopefully set up dreampi on my raspberry pi unit soon. I would like to get a head start and not be so newbie like when I start gaming online. Any help or links would be grand.

yeah.. if you already have a r-pi.. id just get a lvi/modem from tak, a SD card to flash the dreampi image on and a short phone cord to connect the DC modem to the LVI/modem then BooM.. your done other than DMZ or port forwarding for the games you want to play online...
