Ikaruga is definitely an icon and one of the most acclaimed shoot 'em ups on Dreamcast! The polarity switching mechanic is such a smart innovation that keeps you on your toes. I love dreamcast. I love treasure and I love shmups. But I don't like ikaruga at all.
I don't like how strict is to do a already planned rute or you score will be trash or you will not able to end de lvl at all.
The game forces you to play it a certain way, there is no room to learn new things, just become a machine and play perfectly.
I like to be myself in shmups and have to take my own decisions every millisecond by my own.
