Please help me get my Dreamcast Online

Hi guys,

Trying to get my PAL Dreamcast online. Followed the tutorial from DreamcasticChannel. Im using the PAL USB Line Voltage Inducer and a Dell NW147 modem. I get to the part where I connect everything but dont get any lights switched on on my Dell modem. Not sure what the problem is, if anyone knows how to get the dial up modem working please let me know. As far as I know I have connected everything as per tutorial.

Thanks

Ok, I have a couple of ideas but I recommend sending this question directly to PCwzrd13 being he is the guy who has all of the exact answers. Just copy and PM him.

The first thing I would do is check and make sure DreamPi is booting up properly. Plug it into a TV, power it on, and take a picture of the screen when it's finished booting ( shouldn't take more than a minute or so max). From that we can tell if it's working properly.

You are getting a kernel panic, that is, it doesn't even boot.

I would recommend reformating/reinstalling the dreampi image to your SD. If that
doesn't work, try another SD card.

Thank you Shuouma. I reformatted the SD card and reloaded dreampi image and now I see 2 green lights on the modem. The next thing is to load web browser on my dreamcast. Im just wondering is it something I need to purchase? I cant seem to find the browser in the settings when I boot up my dreamcast.
thanks again for your help.

Yes, it's not on the Dreamcast itself, it's on a disc. You can either purchase a copy of Dreamkey 3.0 or burn a copy of XDP Browser (you can find it here).

Select the PlanetWeb option from the main menu of XDP and configure it as in the video tutorial.
