Official Sega Saturn NetLink Guide

Finally got around to playing some online matches with Tgames, was pretty stable for the most part but it seems like it keeps getting laggier the longer you play. We both have fibre connections and I live in Austria and he lives in France. If anyone has any suggestions to combat this issue it would be greatly appreciated!

Saturn Bomberman and Virtual On are pretty much unplayable, which is why they're not shown here. I might also stream/record my matches at some point over at twitch.tv/miba, I was too lazy to set up my equipment again

Yep, with voip the longer you play the more our of sync it will get unfortunately. Basically after a match or two its best to disconnect and start a new connection.

You may try with "Keep NAT Alive" Enable = Yes. Sometimes I've had really good "more stable" connections with that on. Let me know if that is the case for you, and I'll update my instructions.

Someday I need to test with the SPA112, thats basically the most modern version of the SPA1001. Would like to see if I can squeeze anymore speed out of it.

Im very glad that i found your forum.
A little info about me :
im from Europe (Latvia) and for about a year im collecting for sega saturn.
and recently i remembered about Netlink and started to collect that, and in about moth i think i will receive my goods from USA such as Netlink with browser version 3, keyboard adapter and the keyboard and mouse. But the thing is that i have only PAL saturns, is there any way to play with you guys online but on PAL saturn? i read that i need VOIP as well and i will order it ASAP. And one more question how do i access the Chat Roms on NET LINK ZONE, so i need the DreamPi anyway? (if yes - where do i get one)

You can use a pal Saturn but you will need a ode, modchip, pseudo kai, or do the swap trick to play netlink games in it since they are USA ntsc region.

I recommend joining the saturn netlink matchup group on facebook. I'll probably start a fresh discord exclusively for netlink just haven't had a chance. For best results European players should only connect to other European players. Overseas matches are too slow to work currently with the voip lag. (Hopefully we eventually find a even faster method) But if you are on the same continent it works pretty well.

For netlink zone and surfing the net and checking email you will need a dreampi, you can purchase one through dreamcastlive.net
