phenoms work

Have you guys seen what phenom( the guy that has brought up the homebrew opengl up to scratch with the performance comparable to the official sdk) has been up to? Not only has he continued to improve opengl on the dc but it seems he has created a new lower level api for faster performance. He made a portal-esque tech demo.

his recent work:

video of it:

The new opengl for dreamcast he released a few months back:

I have to admit those textures & transparencies look incredibly smooth

Nice to see the passion is still strong. I wonder what he is creating the engine for?

hes making api to interface with the hardware effectively and efficiently so people can write their own software / game engines. He makes these demos to demonstrate and to test pure performance It just seems developers havent picked up on his advancements just yet for a better opengl.Iam honestly suprised no one seems to mention his work here seeing how he pretty much brought back the possibility of 3d dreamcast homebrew single handedly .

Impressive! Solid 30 FPS, smooth textures, portals, colourful lightning...
I need a build of this tech demo for my Dreamcast!

Wow, I hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere else up to now. That portal demo is awesome and the graphics look on par with commercial releases from back in the day. Very impressive.

Very impressive work, I still find it a shame no one will touch the official SDKs even after 15+ years as they offer quite a lot of power (At least in my tinkering with WinCE and 4x4 Evo). But it does look like it's edging ever closer. The portal effect is especially amazing given the lack of pixel shaders, or a lot of modern hardware techniques.

If you're an indie game developer, you're not going to illegally use an official SDK to build a project that might one day be a showcase of your developer skills, as no company is going to want to work with you if you created your product illegally.

Would it still be licence after so long or is it the way you acquire it?
