Maid Fight - A new DC game... from Brazil?

Post#1 » Fri Nov 12, 2010 9:45 pm

Yeah, you read that correctly, apparentlya developer named PressGames is nearing completion of deveopment on a DC game titled "Maid Fight".

Details seem very sketchy to me, and no screenshots are being shown. Here's a translation of the announcement I found about this:
Original article here: http://www.dreamcastbr.com/author/admin/

New developed game being for Dreamcast!
29/08/2010 for Igor Isaiah Banlian
Filed in Notice and Updates

Maid Fight is the name of it and is being produced for the Press Games!

One is about a fight game 2D, style Guilty Gear, with graphs in Cel-Shading, musics being produced by the band Kazoku Niban, counting still on musics of Japanese harp (koto) produced by the Orchestra Cultural Alliance Brazil-Japan, and even though system of Multiplayer Online in the Dreamcast.

We have new information, that they follow below:

Information Techniques:

Platform: Sega Dreamcast;
Media: CD-ROM;
Video: 16:9 or 4:3;
Sound: Stereo;
Players: 4 simultaneous ones (free project);
Online resources: Yes;
Server: Proper;
Personages: 25;
Phases: 27;
Language: Japanese and Portuguese;
Blocks of the used VMU: 4 (save, configuration, extras).
Arcade control:

Control of the Arcade type of the Maid Fight for Sega Dreamcast;
Launching: Together with the game;
Producer: Indiana Games.
Editions of Launching:

Standard:
1. Record with Snipe Card;
1. Manual, layer and box.
Collector:
1. Record with Snipe Card;
1. Manual, layer and box;
1. Metallic box (where it comes all the item);
1. Book Concept Art;
1. COMPACT DISC of audio of the Maid Fight;
1. Mouse Pad.
It will be launched in the first semester of 2011 for Dreamcast (and in as the semester of 2011 for Xbox Live Indie Games)!

Also the Maid Fight Arcade will be launched in partnership with Indiana Games (the same producer of the Arcade Control of the Maid Fight), for fliperamas, twirling in a Plate of Arcade 1gplus, that it counts on a processor Pentium 4 of 2.53Ghz and 4GB of RAM.

Promotion Maid Fight: It makes the layer of the game and gains a prize!

Of what it consists:

Final art is the layer of the game, then we will make a competition in which the players will develop the layer of the game… The best layer of the game, logically with all the information that a layer of game for Dreamcast must have, will earn in its launching:

1 Kit Dreamcast Collector and will have its enclosed name in the Concept Art of the Kit!
For more information, it visits this link: http://www.dreamcastbr.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=186

Below we have images related to the game:

Images in the article appear to be concept art for the characters and loading screen. Not a clue if it'll really come to market or not, but the limited edition would be nice to order if it does. ;)

Wow, I really don't regret getting back into Dreamcast gaming after 8 years, it has been a great year and a half that I have had my current system, and new games just keep coming out for it! You know, it makes me wonder if people will still be developing for it in the year 2020. At this rate, it doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

Wow.My hobby is 3d modeling so Iam kinda curious whats their triangle count per character.Dead or alive 2 models were around 7,000-9,000 polygons when I extracted them.Iam also curious how do they plan to get this high performance out of the dreamcast,are they using kos or official dev kits?I hope something comes out of this.So this and tahi will show some 3d homebrew for a change.

Wow, this is great news. I wonder though, what do they mean by broadband? Will they be making a new BBA or will they support the game with broadband mp servers?

Sounds interesting... I hope they will show some pictures soon. And publish it not only in Japanese and Portuguese, but in English too.

Ya, I hope so too. I can understand a lot of Spanish, since I live in Texas, and Portuguese is very close to Spanish, but it is like the difference between English and Dutch, although closely related, very different phonology. At best I can pick out words and get the general meaning of phrases conveyed, but it is still easier for me to read English lol.

From the looks of the site, they have an American flag you can select, so looks like there are chances we might get American standard English? :D

Also, they are putting this on Xbox live indie games, and they will want to appeal to a broader audience besides just Brasil and Portugal.

Wow, thanks for the news game_player_s. This dev team seems pretty ambitious. Hopefully we can see a homebrew 3d online game. I've got my money on Tahi ;).
