What if Sega just started making games for the Dreamcast...

I mean really, what if they started supporting it again. They would not need to make a ton of games for it, but a few releases a year, third party optional... maybe even just exclusive titles.

Seems like they would sell games for it as people still play their DC's. I mean shit Classic Game Source got a ton of NIB DC's in awhile back and they sold out in like a month.

So why not? Might help them out financially.

Well the thing is that they still have the rights and the ability. People clammer for Sega to re-enter the hardware market, so why not test the waters and see if there is something their for them... the base is their after all....

From what I read and understand, the current Sega regime would like the public to forget they had a console and that they are just a software/game entity. I feel Radirgy, Under Defeat, and Last Hope were...well...the last hope. Trigger Heart Exelica and Karous are just the last nails in the coffin. I realize that Wind And Water (Puzzle-Battle) is the most recently released game, but it is not a corporate release despite being more than another 2D shooter ported to the Dreamcast.

Homebrew coders of note have moved on, all I keep vastly seeing is old MS DOS era games being ported over. They can't even get the online ability to work because it is more like a coded PC/old "other" system emulator to allow the game in it's pure form to work on the Dreamcast.

I would impressed if someone could hack the UT DC game but give it the UT/PC version's ability to scan for other PC games instead of the DC scanner. I'm sure someone will explain why this is not possible, but it's moot - we know the DC most likely will never get this game back from the online grave. A bad way to treat the one time "Game Of The Year". PC players still play it online as I type (boo Gamespy). Even the DC port of Counter-strike cannot go online (the official game is currently online via the WON2 network).

There are two more problems, one is that graphics are finally beyond the DC's reach (not by much realistically and it sure took years to get beyond).
The other problem is online play, the game would have to be an online game to sell or be successful as well as a popular title.

I do feel after seeing most of the post-Dreamcast Sonic games, I feel the DC could still hold it's own in that world, but that would be it.

Bottom line, do not expect to see anymore more Sega Dreamcast games, or at least any of note.

Sorry, but this is something I would not have said a year ago. Please only comment if any real info, corrections or possibility exist. I did research this topic before I went off (sorry once again).
