How do people even define disc rot these days? Pin holes on the disc, or a weird milky look on the bottom? I don't think I've ever had a disc with the first, and the second I've pretty much only had on PS1 games that were already badly scratched.

My SA2 disc had a pinhole, but luckily it still ripped OK.

I have so many Dreamcast discs that seem fine to the naked eye, but just refuse to boot even tho the DC laser is fine. Wild Metal, Sonic Adventure, SEGA Rally 2...

I never had a bad disk in my life (unless I dropped it or something), and my cd based collection goes all the way back to the 80’s... then again I’m not one who stalls everything out in the open. Everything is locked away in the dark, in a fairly stable temperature. When I see how folks treat their stuff, I’m not surprised it all goes to hell, I’ve seen entire collections standing in bright sunlight and in moisty cellars or uninsulated attics...

I also keep my CD's, GD-ROM's and DVD's in the dark.
