There is a scammer sending pm asking to support this forum by clicking malware/spyware etc link.
Do NOT click anything in that pm!
I have already sent a message to our admin and he will deal with it asap.

Here is a phishing message you may get by pm:

P.S. i just checked newly registered users sorted by date and holy shit there are so many spammers! Most obvious ones are with spam links as websites, the rest are silent like this one but i see there are real people registered too with nicknames ive seen at other dc forums!

Thanks for pointing this out Vasiliy. I banned the user, deleted their PM outbox and removed him from the database. Most people should not see any PM's from him now. At this point some may have already opened the messages but I hope they will be deleted since I banned him.

And don't worry, we personally review all posts from newly registered users and let through any real legitimate users. But from now on i'll have to ban new users from sending PM's. Such a shame... sigh. Unfortunately this means any lurkers here that have 0 posts (therefore still in newly registered users) will not be able to pm any longer. Please make a post to be accepted into the regular user group.

Yep, I can verify that my PM inbox is empty, not that I ever noticed that there was a new PM in the first place (probably was, but was too focused on browsing the forum to care). Thank you VasiliyRS for the warning and thank you Impulse for doing a great job at keeping spammers at bay!

So, in other words, there is no cheap kitchen?

Cheap kitchens are out of style now ;)

It seems that all the crap I enabled on the back-end to combat spam is finally working. Might be able to remove the PM ban for newly registered users if this sticks for a while.
